Closing the Doors of the Shed & Opening a New Chapter
Charlotte TimminsShare
After five incredible years, it’s finally time to close the doors of the shed.
What started as a small dream working from home slowly grew into something I could never have imagined. From late nights embroidering orders, piles of parcels taking over the house, and learning everything as I went, to meeting so many amazing customers who supported my little business from the very beginning — the shed has been the heart of Y Stryd for such a special chapter of my life.
But before the shed… there was actually the cupboard under the stairs.
When Y Stryd first started as Made on the Street, I was creating handmade children’s clothing from a tiny little space tucked away under the stairs at home. Only the real OG’s who have been here from the beginning will remember those days. Looking back now, it’s crazy to think how much has changed since then.
From the cupboard under the stairs, to the shed, and now to a shop on Watling Street in Llanrwst — every stage has helped shape the business into what it is today.
Running a business from home has given me flexibility, freedom, and memories I’ll always treasure. But as the business has continued to grow, so has the need for more space, more opportunities, and a proper place for customers to visit.
So, while it’s emotional to say goodbye to the shed, I’m incredibly excited to say hello to something new.
Y Stryd is moving to Watling Street in Llanrwst.
This new shop will become the new home for everything I love creating — embroidery, printing, workwear, school uniforms, gifts, and so much more. It’s a huge step forward for the business and one I’m so grateful to be able to take.
The shop itself needs a little TLC before opening, but I can already picture what it’s going to become. A welcoming space where customers can browse, chat, collect orders, and see Y Stryd grow into something even bigger.
Moving to Watling Street feels like the beginning of a brand new chapter, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without all of the support over the last five years. Every order, every share, every recommendation, and every kind message has helped me get here.
From a cupboard under the stairs, to a shed at home, and now to a shop in the heart of Llanrwst — it still doesn’t feel real.
I’m aiming to open the doors in July and I can’t wait to share the journey with you all over the next few weeks as the transformation begins.
Thank you for sticking around and supporting my dream. Here’s to the next chapter of Y Stryd.
